Old City not included in Metro Rail Project

Charminar: Many people from the old city are protesting against Governments decision leaving old City with no plans for Metro Rail.

Old city area has been blanked out from the initial Metro rollout plans and now citizens hailing from this area of the city are protesting against the Government.

The All India Muslim Sangam (AIMS) is accusing MIM of not taking care of its constituency in developing the area and wants the people of old city to lack far behind in comparison with other areas of the city.

Stating that roads in Badi Chowdi and Sultan Bazar are narrower than those of old city, the area is still included in the Metro Rail project said the members of AIMS. Adding to that they have also raised the road widening issue from MGBS to Falakhnuma, which is a 6 kms stretch, they said though the owners are willing to give their properties at a reasonable amount for the widening, neither the Government nor their leaders are thinking about the issue sources reported.
