Old City woman raped, filmed, blackmailed for 30 lakh

Hyderabad: Pahadishareef police on Monday registered a complaint against two youths for allegedly extorting 30 lakh from a woman for the last 8 years by threatening to circulate an obscene video.

A woman in her complaint alleges the accused identified as Ahmed Jasim Lateef Khan and Syed Imran has drugged and raped her eight years ago and filmed the act and since then has been blackmailing.

According to The New Indian Express reports, the victim approached Pahadishareef police on Monday, urging to rescue her from the clutches of the miscreants.

The duo has been derained by the Pahadishareef police and case under section 376 of IPC has been registered against the accused and launched an probe to crack the extortion case .

According to the victim, the accused duo took Rs.20 lakh from her apart from jewellery worth Rs. 10 lakh.

Since police find no evidence to the complaint that the victim was being blackmailed, threatened or subjected to extortion, therefore based on the statement of the victim, a case of rape has been booked.

“If we get any evidence, we will arrest the accused. But so far there is no evidence to support the victim’s claims,” said B Anuradha, assistant commissioner of police (ACP), Shamshabad.

“The victim says she was drugged, raped and then blackmailed for the last eight years. She says they have also threatened to kill her husband. We have received a complaint and are investigating,” said inspector VV Chalapathi.

“The victim’s husband came to know about the incident three months ago and decided to approach the police,” said the inspector.
