Mumbai, July 20 (Siasat News): ‘Kabhi Tanhaeeyon mein Hamari Yaad Aayegi’ was a soulful song when it was first released in late 60s and it still make people nostalgic.
The singer of this memorable song Mubarak Begum is no more.
She was bed ridden for quite some time and her film commitments were almost nil. Living in a one-bedroom flat at Beharam Bagh, Jogeswari (west), Mubarak Begum had sung some more hummable songs in her almost 20 year career including Mujhko Apne Gale Lagalo, a duet with late Rafi, Bemurawwat Bewafa Begana-e-Dil Aap Hain, Jab Ishq kabhi Ho jaata Hai Tab Aisi Haalat Hoti Hai, Neend Udjaye Teri Chain Se sonewale, Ye muh masoor ki daal with Suman Kalyanpur and many more.
According to her family sources, the burial took place at Oshiwara Muslim Qabrastan in Jogeshwari (west).
She had to face the cold attitude of the film fraternity even in her death as only a handful of her well wishers had come to condole her death to her son, daughter-in-law and a grand daughter as she was abandoned in her life time because film people salute only the rising sun.
May her soul rest in peace.
