Srinagar: One militant was killed on Thursday in a gunfight with the security forces in Jammu and Kashmir’s Bandipora district, the police said.

The militant was killed in Aragam Chitti Bandi village.

“The operation is still going on,” the police said.

Security forces had surrounded the village on specific information about the presence of militants on early Thursday morning.

After the area was cordoned off, militants fired upon the security forces personnel triggering the gunfight.
