Oppn irk govt over KG to PG, double bedroom

Hyderabad: Opposition members today slammed the ruling party for not coming out clearly on the much hyped KG to PG scheme to offer intensive free education to the poor.  Also they continued their fight on the treasury benches with two bedroom houses, education, health, irrigation projects and welfare. The opposition took on the might of the ruling party for failing to come out with a plan of action on the KG to PG scheme. Congress deputy leader Jeevan Reddy, BJP Floor Leader Dr K Lakshman, MIM’s leader Akbaruddin Owaisi, YCP’s Venkateshwarlu and left parties members Ravindra and Rajaiah registered stiff resentment over the ruling party on KG to PG scheme and education sector which is beyond the reach of the common man. The opposition sought the government to make an announcement on steps for 25 per cent of reservation in private education institutions. Despite three years of KCR rule, it failed to come out with a plan on KG to PG scheme, Jeevan Reddy said. Even Lakshman pulled up the TRS regime for lacking clarity on the prestigious scheme to provide better education. Akbaruddin and Revanth Reddy joined them to pull up the ruling party on the scheme as well as suicides by farmers, two bedroom houses and welfare scheme. The finance minister listed out with comparisons about the fund spent by the previous governments and the ruling party in 21 months. We are for implementing the KG to PG scheme, two bedroom houses to poor, three acres to dalits, and provide better education for the poor by taking all steps, he added. Rajender also said that they allotted Rs 100 cr for journalists welfare, Rs 5 lakh insurance for drivers, Rs 12000 salary for home guards and pensions for the eligible. (NSS)
