Oppn leaders demand CBI probe in Nayeem case

Opposition leaders today demanded that the government order a CBI inquiry into slain gangster Nayeemuddin’s case stating that the ambit of SIT was less as Nayeem’s activities spread across 10 States.

Participating in a short discussion on Nayeemuddin case here on Monday in the Legislative Assembly, TDP MLA Sandra Venkata Veeraiah asked the government to initiate stringent action against those maintained links with Nayeem. Demanding that the government make Nayeem’s diary public and his assets confiscated, Sandra said the people have doubts on the case. He asked the government to tell as how it will take back the lands encroached upon by Nayeemuddin. He demanded that the government set up a fast track Court to deal with Nayeem’s cases and to render justice to the victims. Demanding CBI inquiry into Nayeem’s case, Sandra asked the government to solve the case as soon as possible.

MIM MLA Kausar Mohiuddin demanded that the government allow relatives of Nayeem to speak in jail premises. BJP MLA Chintala Ramachandra Reddy demanded that the government initiate action against those maintained links with Nayeem. He also alleged that police and political leaders too had links with Nayeem and their names should be made public.

CPM MLA Sunnam Rajaiah demanded that the State government order a judicial inquiry into the Nayeem case and action be initiated against the police officials and political leaders, who aided Nayeem in his nefarious activities.

TRS MLA Solipeta Ramalinga Reddy said the Congress and TDP members have no right to speak on Nayeem issue as both the parties were responsible for Nayeem’s atrocities. He recalled that he himself had raised Nayeem’s atrocities in the Assembly in 2004, but then Congress government ignored his appeal. (NSS)
