The Time Scale Employees of Osmania University here on Friday met Osmania University Registrar Prof. E. Suresh Kumar in his chambers and thanked him for the resolution to pay retirement benefits to the Time Scale Employees working in the University.
The Executive Council had accorded approval to pay cash benefit of Rs 2 lakh to NGOs and Technical Staff and Rs 1.5 lakh to Class IV employees of Time-Scale on attaining the age of Superannuation or death while in service. The Time-Scale Employees have been requesting the university for the past 20 years for the retirement benefits, which got approval of the Executive council for the first time.
Time-Scale Employees Union president Vinod Kumar, general secretary Vittal Goud, Union members Narayana, Govindu, Nagesh, Srinivas and other Time Scale Employees met the Registrar and expressed their gratitude on the historic decision which will benefit 287 Time Scale Employees, who have put in more than 20 years of service in the University. The Time Scale Employees will not be entitled for this benefit, if their services are regularized. (NSS)
