Taking note against delay in issuing first instalment of Overseas Scholarship scheme to selected minority students, the government has decided to issue memos to respective District Minority Welfare officers. Government had given time to transfer first instalment of the scholarship in the accounts of all 210 selected students till November 10 and Minority Welfare Department had released Rs. 11.47 Cr to all District Minority Welfare Officers according to the number of selected students but the officers didn’t transfer the amount to the students account till date.
Following receipt of various complaints in this regard, Secretary Minority Welfare Syed Omer Jaleel conducted review meeting and expressed ire over the slackness of officers. He issued memo to the respective officers and directed them to transfer the amount immediately.
