Hyderabad: Govt. of A.P. has decided to constitute separate Wakf Board for the state. Govt. had issued orders appointing Mr. Shaik Mohammed Iqbal, Special Secretary of the Department of Minorities Welfare as Competent Authority but these orders were withdrawn due to some legal complications. Legal opinion is being sought after which these orders would be issued. It is understood that Govt. of A.P. is in search of a new CEO. Govt. is facing difficulties of getting Muslim officers for appointing them to various posts due to their shortage.
Mr. Shaik Mohammed Iqbal who is the Special Secretary of the Department of Minorities Welfare is hold many important positions in the Wakf Board. Govt. of A.P. has to appoint Secretary, MD of Minorities Finance Corporation, Special Officer of Hajj Committee and Secretary of Urdu Academy.
