Pak army chief clears hanging of Army Public School terrorists

Islamabad, Nov.30 : Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff, General Raheel Sharif, on Monday, signed the black warrants for the hanging of four terrorists involved in the December 16, 2014 Army Public School attack.

A Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) release said that General Sharif signed the black warrants of Maulvi Abdus Salam, Hazrat Ali, Mujeebur Rehman and Sabeel alias Yahya nearly a year after the horrific massacre.

The terror strike claimed the lives of 144 people, most of whom were children, reports the Dawn.

In the wake of the APS carnage, military courts were set up for trying terrorists under amendments made to the Constitution and the Army Act.

This was the first sentence approved by the army chief following the Supreme Court’s August 2015 judgement giving legal cover to the establishment of military courts. (ANI)
