Islamabad [Pakistan]: Pakistan’s Interior Minister Chaudhary Nisar Ali Khan on Saturday said that the media can play a most crucial role in disseminating redible information to counter terrorism.

Interacting with media here, Khan claimed that incidents of terrorism have significantly declined since 2013 because of the effective security measures taken by the Nawaz Sharif government.

Referring specifically to the terrorist attack at the Sehwan Sharif, Khan said the maintenance of law and order in Sindh is the sole responsiblity of the provincial government and that the federal government should not be maligned.

He appealed to the media to focus on promoting national cohesion and courage among the people.

Khan said it is important for the media to black list terrorist organizations and not air any content glorifying militancy.

He said since the adoption of National Action Plan (NAP) to this day, the government has focused on sharing and discussion with all stake holders including the media, reports Radio Pakistan. (ANI)
