Pak troops violate ceasefire on Independence Day

Jammu: Pakistani border troops have reportedly violated the ceasefire in Mandi and Saujian sectors of Jammu and Kashmir.

Indian troops have retaliated the unprovoked firing that began at 12 midnight and ceased at 3 am before restarting at 7:30 am.

The firing was done using 82 mm mortars to which the Army retaliated.

Earlier on Friday, Pakistan opened unprovoked fire in Hamirpur area of Balakote sector, Poonch also.

On Tuesday, in twin ceasefire violations, Pakistani troops resorted to small arms firing on forward posts along the LoC in Rajouri and Poonch districts.

There have been 19 ceasefire violations along the Indo-Pak border in July in which four persons, including three jawans, were killed and 14 others injured.
