Pakistan blames India for terrorism in UN

In response to Swaraj’s UN speech which stated to “give up terrorism” and sit for talks, Pakistan has asserted that “core” issue of Jammu and Kashmir will always be on top of the agenda of any bilateral dialogue.

Pakistan said it has handed over the dossiers to UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon containing “evidence” of alleged Indian involvement in terrorism in the country ,Indian interference and support for terrorism in Balochistan and Karachi and links of its security agencies with the Tehrik-e-Taliban especially in Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA),” the representative said in the Right of Reply from the floor of the General Assembly.

The representative accused India of using the “terrorism bogey” for stalling the bilateral dialogue between the two countries.

“India’s insistence to limiting the talks to a one-point agenda proves that it is neither interested nor serious in engaging in a genuine dialogue,” he said.

The representative accused India of failing to bring to justice perpetrators of terrorism against civilians in the 2007 Samjhauta Express bombings.

“We do not need four points, we need just one- give up terrorism and let us sit down and talk,” Swaraj had said in her 25-minute speech before the 193-member body. India-Pak ties are going through a chill particularly after cancellation of NSA-level talks in August.

Ms Swaraj had also referred to the perpetrators of 26/11 attacks who continue to roam freely in Pakistan and pressed the world community to ensure that countries which provide finances, safe havens and arms to terrorists “pay a heavy price”.
