Palamur, Nalgonda decked up for Pushkarlu

Hyderabad: Mahbubnagar and Nalgonda districts got ready and embellished with all facilities for the holy Krishna Pushkaralu beginning on Friday and culminate on August 23. 

The State Government has allotted Rs 825 crore for conducting the Pushkaralu on a grand note as the pious festivities fall once in 12 years and being celebrated for the first time in Telangana from August 12 to 23. It is estimated that some three crore devotees from various districts and States are expected to turn up for the holy bath in the river Krishna and offer prayers at the temples.

The State government also declared holidays to the nearby schools to accommodate the devotees as part of celebrations while adequate police personnel are deployed at pushkar ghats in Mahbubnagar and Nalgonda districts. Accordingly elaborate arrangements are made to ensure smooth flow of the devotees to the pushkar ghats which are decked up to suit the occasion and the temples are illuminated in bright and colorful lights.

Facilities are provided like water, power, queue lines, temporary dressing rooms, toilets, besides bathing ghats are constructed to suit to the occasion. The Government is also making use of latest technologies like apps and websites for disseminating information to the devotees about the facilities, transportation facilities, important and historic places nearby followed by cultural programs.
