Panchayatraj Cahmber’s Posers to AP Chief Minister

Andhra Pradesh State Panchayatraj Chamber  Vice-chairman Mamidi Appala Naidu  has shot off an open letter to the Chief Minister N Chandrababu naidu, seeking replies to ten questions he posed to the latter.

Appalanaidu released the open letter at a media meet here today.  He questioned whether  not holding elections for 18 months  to  the vacant posts of Sarpanch, MPTC, ZPTC, Councillor, Corporators and Ward Members  was  unconstitutional, as they have to be elected within four months.  Is it not unconstitutional to take away the powers of conferred upon the local bodies in the name of Janmabhoomi ?  Is it justified on your part to take away the powers of local bodies, while asking more powers to the State from the Centre ?  What happened to the election promises of strengthening local bodies and establishment of local Governments, if the TDP came to power ?   On behalf of the Chamber, Naidu wanted the Chief Minister to answer these and other questions.
