IAF Wing Commander found dead at Sirsa airbase in Haryana

Sirsa (Haryana) [India]: An Indian Air Force officer on Wednesday was found dead under suspicious circumstances at his residence in Haryana’s Sirsa Air Base.
The body of Wing Commander Rajesh Kumar Tiwari, 41, security in-charge at the airbase, was found with a bullet injury in his head around 3pm today.

His body was found in an IAF Gypsy that he was driving at the airbase, over 250 km from here.

Police reached the spot and claimed the body after which a post-mortem was conducted. The postmortem report will confirm the reson behind his death.

The police, however, haven’t ruled out a case of suicide.

” Wing Commander Rajesh Kumar Tiwari was posted here since May. He went on a round this morning and after returning, there was a bullet injury on his forehead. The injury was from his service revolver. We are investigating on the basis of a statement,” said Subhash Kumar, Investigating Officer.

The victim was living alone at the airbase, while his family is based in Uttar Pradesh.
