Parents denied marriage, 128 girls in Saudi Arabia filed cases against them

Jeddah: According to a report of Ministry of Justice, Saudi Arabia, 128 girls have moved to the court against their parents to get married since their parents were not arranging their marriages.

The report mentioned that parents did not find suitable groom for their daughters. It is also mentioned in the report that 10 courts are dealing these cases. The highest number of cases is in the courts of Makkah.

Ibrahim Al-Badabi, an Advocate and ex-member of the Bureau of Investigation and Public Prosecution, told that many girls have become aware of their rights. The Ministry of Justice is taking steps to ensure that male members do not prevent girls from getting married. As per the law of the country, girls have a right to seek justice from the court without the consent of their parents.
