Partial solar eclipse in India


A total solar eclipse will occur on 9 March; however India will witness partial eclipse. The eclipse will not be visible in north-west parts of the country. This will be the first solar eclipse of the year. The next solar eclipse will not take place until 2019.

The eclipse will begin at 4:49 am local time and will go on till 10:05 am, while total eclipse phase will remain from 5:47 am to 9:08 am.

The eclipse will occur after a gap of 5 years. Earlier partial solar eclipse occurred on January 4, 2011.
