All-party team meets Hyd Collector for revival of Dharna chowk at Indira Park

An All-Party delegation under the leadership of CPI City Committee, has submitted a memorandum to the Hyderabad District Collector to revive the Dharna Chowk at Indira Park.

On Monday, CPI Greater Hyderabad secretary ET Narasimha, CPM city secretary Somaiah, CPM leader Srinivas, CPI-ML New Democracy leader Anuradha, TJAC leader Sathyam Goud, CPI-ML New Democracy leader Hanmesh, SUCI leader Bharat and others met the Hyderabad in-charge Collector and submitted a memorandum.

Speaking to the media later, they said the people, political parties and people’s organizations have lost the chance of bringing their problems to the notice of the State government with the closing down of the existing Dharna Chowk at Indira Park. Earlier, the aggrieved people used to stage dharnas at Assembly, Secretariat and MLA Quarters. But the united Andhra Pradesh rulers had shifted dharna chowk from the Secretariat to Indira Park; but the present government shifted it to the city outskirts, they alleged.

They said they were observing relay fasts since April 15 at CPI State office demanding that the State government revive the dharna chowk at Indira Park immediately. The Left parties, along with people’s organizations, have decided to storm the Dharna Chowk on May 15 for its immediate revival. (NSS)
