Pathankot: Parrikar to visit under-attack airbase today

New Delhi: Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar will visit the Indian Air Force Base in Pathankot, Punjab, today to take stock of the ground situation as the fidayeen attack has entered its fourth day.

He will be accompanied by IAF chief Air Marshal Arup Raha and Army Chief General Dalbir Singh.

They are expected to brief the media this afternoon about the latest developments in Pathankot following which the Defence Minister will head to Ambala to visit the family of Garud Commando Gursewak Singh, who was martyred in the operation.

Meanwhile, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) team has reached Pathankot to carry forward its probe of the three cases lodged in connection with the ongoing terror attack.

The NIA had registered three cases at local police stations in Punjab yesterday to probe the ‘conspiracy’ angle behind the attack. (ANI)
