Pavan casual on special status to AP issue: CPI Narayana

CPI national secretary Dr K Narayana today alleged that Tollywood actor and Jana Sena Chief Pawan Kalyan was not speaking sincerely on the special status to Andhra Pradesh and instead he was speaking on the issue now and then. “Pavan’s attitude towards the special status to AP is like a blind man aiming a stone in a nest”, he added.

Speaking to the media here on Thursday, Narayana asserted that the Centre, which appears to be positive, deceived AP with regard to granting special status to the residuary State. Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and Union Minister M Venkaiah Naidu played high drama to misguide the people of the State, he added.

Narayana asked Chandrababu Naidu to come out from the Union Cabinet and launch fight against the Centre to achieve special status to Andhra Pradesh State. It was not correct on the part of former MP Purandeshwari to speak against special status after joining the BJP. He said the CPI would extend full support to the bandh to be observed on September 10. He asked the people to make the proposed bandh against the State and Centre a total success.

Meanwhile, Telangana CPI State secretary Chada Venkat Reddy said the Centre was showing step-motherly treatment to the people of Telangana State. He demanded that the Centre accord special status to Andhra Pradesh and give special package to Telangana State. (NSS)
