Pay salaries to 1258 power men in a month: HC tells TS & AP

In a temporary relief to 1258 electricity employees relieved by Telangana Government on Andhra nativity, the Hyderabad High Court today directed two Telugu States to clear pending salaries to power employees in four weeks.

Allowing a petition, the High Court directed the Andhra Pradesh and Telangana Governments to pay their salaries in 58 and 42 per cent ratio in one month. Turning down the appeal of the Telangana Government to vacate stay orders on relieving the employees, the High Court directed both the States to clear the pending salaries. The court also dismissed the appeal of the Telangana Government to vacate the stay order issued by a single judge.

It may be noted that the aggrieved employees moved the court against the relieving orders of Telangana government. The single judge bench stayed the relieving orders and the file reached disputes bench of the court. The employees, who welcomed the verdict, stated that they will meet Telangana Electricity officials in this regard and will resume duties from Wednesday. (NSS)
