Hyderabad: Mr. Zahid Ali Khan, Editor of Siasat Urdu Daily told that the peaceful campaign launched by the Muslims of Telangana for providing 12% reservation is exemplary for the entire country. This campaign has reached in every nook and corner of Telangana State. Muslims have understood that by getting 12% reservation, their percentage in jobs and educational institutions would increase and lakhs of opportunities would be provided as a result of which their economic and educational status would become better.
The campaign launched in various States like the Patels in Gujarat, Jats in Haryana, Gujjars in Rajasthan and Kapus in Andhra were violent in which Govt. properties worth of crores of rupees have been damaged. Innumerable human lives were lost. Not only was this, during these agitations, rape cases also reported. The Jats protest in Haryana caused a damage of Rs. 34000 crore. It also lost more than 30 lives and 10 women were raped. This protest caused huge damages of properties in Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan and UP. Railways alone incurred a loss of Rs. 55.92 crore. During the Gujjars’ agitation in Rajasthan, Railways incurred a loss of Rs. 15 crore. Kapus in Coastal districts agitated heavily which caused damages of properties worth of crores of rupees. In Gujarat the damages have been estimated to the tune of Rs. 50000 crore whereas in Telangana, Muslims are campaigning in a peaceful manner without causing any damage to the Govt. or private properties.
