Some people talking on SCS without knowing facts: Venkaiah

Hyderabad: Reacting to the comment of Janasena party president Pawan Kalyan, Union minister M Venkaiah Naidu today said there was a need to educate people about the facts as some people are indulging in needless criticism in the name of special category status to Andhra Pradesh.
The Centre has extended financial assistance much more to Andhra Pradesh which never gave to any other State so far, the Union minister said, adding that there was no need to have doubts on the sincerity of the Central government. Venkaiah Naidu said he was not scared with anybody’s criticism and there was no question of going back. “Though I am not representing AP in either Houses of Parliament, but always strove for development of the home State, he asserted.
He also reminded that the BJP, after coming to power, in its first cabinet meeting has merged seven mandals of Telangana into Andhra Pradesh. Revenue deficit would be borne by the Centre and funds would be sanctioned to complete construction of the gigantic Polavaram project, he added. “We are trying to develop Andhra Pradesh with sincerity and those who have political vision can understand this. There was no need of certificate from anybody. Why Polavaram project was not completed when it was started in 1981, he asked and said so far the government has sanctioned Rs 850 crore for the project. (NSS)
