Petrol bomb thrown at J&K education minister’s house

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir J&K education minister Naeem Akhtar’s house was attacked by a petrol bombs in Parraypora area.

The minister and his wife were not present in his house when the incident happened. No injuries or damage to his house have been reported.

Similar bomb was hurled at the office of Road and Buildings department at SDA colony in Bemina area.

A police official said. “A petrol bomb was hurled at the residence of the Education Minister at Parraypora late last night, causing damage to the main gate of the house.”

The minister, consider to be a close aide of chief minister Mehbooba Mufti. Kashmir has been in serious turmoil since almost a month now, with the death toll at 55, and curfew still raging at certain areas of the state following the death of top Hizbul Mujahideen commander, Burhan Wani.
