Hyderabad: In order to relieve congestion and maintain a smooth flow of traffic and public safety, the City Police Commissioner notified vehicular traffic regulations in the city on September 5 in connection with the Ganesh idols immersion processions on following routes.

Police said the main procession starts from Keshavagiri and passes through Aliabad – Nagulchinta – Charminar – Madina – Afzalgunj – M.J.Market – Abids – Basheerbagh – Liberty – and finally Upper Tank Bund and NTR Marg. various other streams of processions join the main one at some junctions. The procession from Secunderabad area passes through RP Road – MG Road – Karbala Maidan – Kawadiguda – Musheerabad crossroad – RTC crossroad – Narayanaguda crossroad – Himayathnagar ‘Y’ Junction and joins the main procession at Liberty.

Another stream that comes through the East from Uppal, Ramanthapur, Amberpet, NCC at OU, Durga Bai Deshmukh Hospital joins the stream at RTC crossroads. Idols from the western side would join the procession at MJ Market and also at Secretariat near Telugu Thalli statue. Hence, no traffic other than the processions will be allowed to move on the main procession route between 0900 hrs on September 5 to 0800 hours on the next day.
Traffic diversion points

Movements of vehicles other than those carrying Ganesh idols will be restricted and diverted at many points along the main procession route and at other points adjoining the routes of other tributary processions. Facility to cross from the West to East or vice versa was given at Basheerbagh Junction only. The commuters are advised to use the Ring Road and Begumpet area to avoid diversions. All the side roads leading to the Main Procession route will be barricaded.

The main traffic diversion points are:

Hyderabad South: Keshavagiri, Mahboobnagar crossroads, Engine Bowli, Nagulchintha, Himmathpura, Hari Bowli, Asra Hospital, Mogulpura, Lakkad Kote, Madina crossroads, MJ Bridge, Dar-Ul-Shifa crossroads and City College.

Hyderabad East: Chanchalguda Jail crossroads, Moosarambagh, Chaderghat Bridge, Salarjung Bridge (Shivaji Bridge), Afzalgunj, Puthilibowli crossroads, Troop Bazar, Jambagh crossroads, Andhra Bank Koti.
Hyderabad West: Tope Khana Mosque, Alaska Hotel Junction, Osman Gunj, Sanker Bagh and Seena Hotel, Ajantha Gate near Exhibition Grounds, Abkari Lane, Taj Island, Barthan Bazar, AR Petrol Pump at KLK Building. Due to the ongoing Metro Works, traffic will be diverted at S.R.Nagar, Community Hall, R&B Office, Balkampet, Food World (D.K.Road) Satyam Theater Junction, Sri Kanaka Durga Matha temple, Ameerpet.

Hyderabad central: Chapel Road entry, Gadwal centre at the GPO, Shalimar Theatre, Gunfoundry, Skyline Road Entry, Bharat Scouts & Guides Junction in Domalguda, Kalanjali at Control Room, Liberty Junction, MCH Office Y junction, BRK Bhavan junction near Telugu Thalli Junction, Iqbal Minar, Ravindra Bharathi, Dwaraka Hotel Junction, Khairatabad Junction (Visweswaraiah Statue), Children’s Park, Viceroy Hotel junction, Kawadiguda Junction, Musheeerabad crossroads, RTC crossroads, Katta Maisamma Temple at Lower Tank Bund and Indira Park Junction.

Hyderabad North (Secunderabad): Vehicular traffic will not be allowed to enter the Necklace Road and Upper Tank Bund from Karbala Maidan, Buddha Bhavan, Sailing Club, Nallagutta Junction. The traffic will be diverted from 0600 hrs on September 5 to 0800 hrs on the next day at the CTO, YMCA, Paradise crossroads, Patny crossroads, Bata crossroads, Adavaiah crossroads and Ghans Mandi crossroads.

Parking places around the immersion points for onlookers: The public coming to watch the Ganesh Immersion in Hussain Sagar Lake have to park their vehicles in the following notified places.Therefore, people are requested to park their vehicles in the places mentioned below and proceed by foot to the places of immersion: Institute of Engineers at Khairatabad Jn., MMTS Station Khairatabad. , Anand Nagar Colony to RR Dist. ZP Office. , Back side of Buddha Bhavan, Goseva Sadan, Lower Tank Bund, Katta Maisamma Temple, NTR Stadium, Nizam College, Public Gardens.

Exit route for empty trucks and lorries after immersion: After immersion on the NTR Marg, the empty trucks/lorries should proceed to their destination via Necklace Rotary – Khairtabad flyover – V.V.Statue – KCP and onwards. They will be not allowed to return towards Telugu Thalli statue or Mint Compound road. After immersion on the Upper Tank Bund, the empty trucks/lorries should proceed towards Children’s Park – DBR Mills – Kawadiguda – Musheerabad or towards Indira Park – Ashok Nagar – Vidya Nagar. No lorry shall go through the Bible House Rail Over Bridge.

Inter-State and Inter-District Lorries are not allowed to enter Hyderabad City on the intervening night of September 5 and 6. Their movement will be terminated on the outskirts of the city during the final day of Ganesh Immersion process. Traffic diversion points will apply to the RTC City Region buses. When the procession reaches its peak, the RTC buses will not be allowed beyond the following junctions towards Hussain Sagar Lake: Masab Tank (Mehdipatnam buses), V.V.Statue (Kukatpally buses), CTO, Plaza, SBH, Clock Tower, Chilkalguda x road (Secunderabad buses), Ramanthapur T.V.Station. , Gaddiannaram, Chaderghat (Dilsuknagar buses), Danamma Huts (Rajendra Nagar), I.S.Sadan (Midhani buses), YMCA Narayanaguda (Inter City Special Buses) and Tarnaka (No RTC Bus shall be allowed beyond Tarnaka Junction towards Jamia Osmania Flyover).

Inter-State/District Buses to reach the MGBS at Imlibun are. Coming from Rajeev Rahadari and NH-7 should go via JBS –YMCA -Sangeet x road- Tarnaka – Jamia Osmania flyover – Nimboliadda – Chaderghat. Coming from Bangalore should go via Aramgarh x road – Chandrayangutta X Road – I.S.Sadan – Nalgonda x Road – Chaderghat. Coming from Mumbai/NH 9 should go via Godrej ‘Y’ Junction – Narasapur X Roads – Bowenpally – JBS – YMCA – Sangeeth – Tarnaka, Jamia Osmania fly over – Adikmet – Nimboliadda.

The movements of Inter State/District buses will not be permitted after 10 am on September 5 to 0600 am on the next day. The TSRTC authorities will provide alternative routes convenient to them keeping in view the restriction imposed on the movement of vehicular traffic on the roads notified.

Private buses should operate from their locations outside the City. All people coming from Airport or going to Airport should avoid using Necklace Road, NTR Marg, Tank Bund Road and Road from Ambedkar Statue to Falaknuma Main Route for the procession as shown in Map. Similarly, people going or coming from Railway station / Bus stand also avoid these roads.
