Pleasant weather in Kashmir

Srinagar: Kashmir valley today witnessed a pleasant weather as the maximum temperature in the state’s summer capital settled at four degrees above normal, despite intermittent rain overnight.

Srinagar recorded a high of 22.2 degrees Celsius – four degrees above normal in this part of the season, a MeT department spokesperson said here.

The minimum temperature was recorded at Srinagar was 10.1 degrees Celsius, which was four degrees above normal, he said, adding that the city received a rainfall of 2.7 mm till 0830 hours today.

Pahalgam hill resort in south Kashmir, which serves as the base camp for annual Amarnath yatra, recorded a high of 20.6 degrees Celsius and a low of 5.6 degrees Celsius, he said.

The maximum temperature recorded at the famous ski resort of Gulmarg in north Kashmir was 6.4 degrees Celsius while the minimum temperature remained at 0.6 degrees Celsius.
