PM gave assurance for 12% reservations for Muslims – KCR

Hyderabad: CM of Telangana State, Mr. K. Chandrasekhara Rao expressed his wrath over the opposing statements against TRS and State Govt. by Mr. Amit Shah during his recent visit in Telangana. He said that BJP is resorting to dual standards. He recalled that in the meeting of the BJP executive held in Odessa, Mr. Narendra Modi had told that Muslims should be given reservations on the basis of their economic backwardness as recommended by National Commission for Backward classes.

Mr. KCR had called on the PM in New Delhi and apprised him of the passing of Muslim reservation bill in Telangana Assembly. Realizing the genuineness of educational backwardness of the Muslims, Mr. Modi assured him that the bill should be sent which would be approved.

Mr. KCR reiterated that Muslims are being given reservations not on the basis of religion but on the basis of their economic and social backwardness. The bill has been passed in Telangana Assembly on this basis only. He hoped that PM will grant his approval to this bill. In case, this does not happen TRS would continue its struggle and would make sure that the Muslims get 12% reservations at any cost.
