PM to inaugurate Nizamabad – Morthad railway line tomorrow

Hyderabad: PM, Mr. Narendra Modi will inaugurate 176 km railway line from Nizamabad to Morthad through remote control from New Delhi on 25th March.

It may be mentioned that in 1948, the then Nizam of Hyderabad had proposed this railway line to facilitate the passengers of Mumbai, Bhiwandi and Surat. In 1991, the then PM of India, Mr. P.V. Narasimha Rao had laid the foundation stone for this project but due to paucity of funds the project could not be completed.

After the formation of Telangana, TRS Govt. exerted its pressure on the Central Govt. for the release of funds. This project was completed in three phases at the cost of Rs. 1500 crore.

Ms. K. Kavitha, MP of Nizamabad took special interest for the release of funds. Mr. Manohar Reddy, Member of Railway Zone Advisory Committee informed that PM will inaugurate this railway line tomorrow. It will facilitate the passengers coming from Mumbai, Delhi, Warangal and Kareem Nagar. Passengers can travel through this railway line to Mumbai and Shirdi.
