PM Modi accorded ceremonial welcome in Malaysia

Putrajaya: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is currently on a three-day visit to Malaysia, was accorded with an impressive ceremonial guard of honour here on Monday at Perdana Square.

His Malaysian counterpart Najib Razak warmly welcomed him, following which Prime Minister Modi inspected the guard of honour during the ceremonial welcome.

The national anthems of both the nations were played by the ceremonial band after which he met with the Malaysian cabinet members, ministers and dignitaries and then proceeded to hold bilateral talks with Razak.

Later in the day, he will join the programme for the inauguration of the Torana Gate, interact with corporate Malaysia, and visit the Batu Caves Temple.

He will leave for Singapore today where he will hold deliberations with Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong on ways to enhance bilateral ties on the occasion of commemoration of 50th anniversary of the diplomatic ties. (ANI)
