PM Modi sends doctor, plane to help unwell Sonia Gandhi

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday offered help to Congress President Sonia Gandhi who had cut short her Varanasi visit after taking ill, by sending a doctor for her health-check-up and a plane for her transportation back to the national capital.

According to the sources the Prime Minister also spoke to Congress’ Chief Ministerial candidate for 2017 UP elections Sheila Dikshit and enquired about Gandhi’s health.

Earlier, the Congress President who had to leave the party’s road show in Varanasi midway after she developed a high fever said, that she was sad to cut down her visit to the temple town.

“I will come back very soon and visit the Kashi Vishwanath temple”, she added.

The Congress President was leading a massive road show in Prime Minister’s constituency for the forthcoming Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections in 2017.

The doctors advised Gandhi to cut short her trip after which she left for Delhi. Later, she was treated at Varanasi Airport’s VIP lounge.
