Police allegedly assaulted Mohammed Sabeeh – his mother approaches HRC

Hyderabad: Ms. Asiya Begum, mother of Mohammed Sabeeh, resident of Chawni Naad-e-Ali Baig lodged a complaint with Human Rights Commission alleging that her 20-year-old son was arrested by the police on 9th December without showing any reasons. He was assaulted in police custody using third degree treatment. The police left him in injured condition at his residence.

She alleged that her son is a student of Intermediate and he is engaged as a part timer in a videography shop. He was returning on the night of 9th December at 3:30 a.m. after taking videographs at a marriage function held at Lakshmi Garden, Champapet. Civil dressed policemen lifted him and took him to an unknown place without giving any information to his family members.

His mother, Ms. Asiya Begum registered a complaint at Madannapet Police Station. After this, police brought her son and left him near Chanchalguda Jail. He alleged that police assaulted him at LB Nagar Police Station. She also said that earlier police had beaten severely her eldest son, Mohammed Suleman. On her petition, honorable chairman of Human Rights Commission issued a notice to Commissioner Hyderabad City Police to investigate the matter and submit a detailed report to HRC before 17th January 2017. It is reported that instead of conducting inquiry, Madannapet police closed the case.
