Police nab six members of ‘Bawaria’ gang

Ghaziabad: Six members of a notorious ‘Bawaria’ gang were caught by police while they were allegedly planning to commit a robbery in the wee hours today.

Acting on a tip-off that the robbers have assembled near Kuti cremation ground near Teelamodh trisection, three police teams cordoned of the area and asked them to surrender, SHO Sahibabad Hari Dayal Singh Yadav said.

Following which all six robbers Bane Singh, Ritu, Mobin, Nasim, Satish and Tara Chand surrendered themselves to police.

Six country made pistols of .315 bore and 15 live cartridges were recovered from their possession.

During interrogation, they revealed their plan to commit robbery in the district in the wee hours.

They also confessed of committing several robberies in Meerut, Hapur, Kharkhoda, Gautam Buddha Nagar and Ghaziabad.

An FIR under sections 399 and 402 of Indian Penal Code and section 25 of Arms Act has been registered against all them, the SHO added.
