Telangana Journalists JAC staged a dharna in the name of ‘Kalam Kavathu’ at Indira Park here on Wednesday demanding that the State government scrap G.O.No. 239 and issue accreditations to all journalists. Participating in the dharna, TTDP working president A Revanth Reddy, BJP State president Dr K Laxman, BJP MLC N. Ramachender Rao, TPCC vice-president Dr Mallu Ravi, Telangana Political JAC chairman Prof. M Kodandaram, Telangana Udyama Vedika convener Dr Cheruku Sudhakar and others demanded that the Chief Minister, who made several assurances during the Telangana movement, abolish G.O.No.239 and give accreditations to all working journalists.

Revanth Reddy alleged that the Chief Minister was the main culprit in issuing G.O.No.239 and not to blame the Journalists Unions leaders. Chief Minister, who assured various sections of Telangana people, was giving contracts, key positions to Andhra people at the cost of Telanganaites and in the same manner he was deceiving the journalists, he alleged.

Dr Laxman said the journalists were facing insults even in separate Telangana State as they faced it in united Andhra Pradesh. He also alleged that the State government has intentionally categorized the newspapers to stop giving accreditations.
