Political parties in Pak condemn India’s ‘documented interference’ in Balochistan

Islamabad [Pakistan]: Political parties in Pakistan condemned India for raising the issue of Balochistan at a meeting convened by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Monday to discuss the security situation amid growing tensions with India and increased ceasefire violations along the Line of Control (LoC).
“We condemn India’s documented interference in Balochistan, a federating unit of sovereign Pakistan,” said a joint statement issued after the meeting.

The statement added, “We express Pakistan’s continued and unwavering support to provide political, moral and diplomatic support to the people of ‘India occupied’ Jammu and Kashmir in their just struggle for self-determination.”

It also called upon the United Nations Security Council to interfere in the Kashmir issue.

“Recognising the UN Security Council’s implementation of its resolutions on self-determination for East Timor and South Sudan, we urge the international community, especially the P5, to take concrete steps for implementation of the UN Security Council resolutions for the right to self-determination of the Kashmiri people.”

The statement added that Pakistan is engaged in an unprecedented war against terrorism and violent extremism, and reiterated the country’s resolve to implement the National Action Plan.

It also rejected India’s “false” claims of terrorism across the LoC.

The meeting was attended by leaders of all political parties, including Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) and Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F) among others. (ANI)
