Congress MLC Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy has met the Telangana state chief secretary Rajiv Sharma at Secretariat and congratulated him on the occasion of his retirement on Wednesday. Ponguleti presented ‘The Discovery of Master Yoga’ book to Rajiv Sharma.
Speaking to the media on the occasion, Ponguleti stated that one cannot forget the services of Rajiv Sharma in preparing separate Telangana State Bill. He said that Rajiv Sharma played a key role in keeping the Bhadrachalam region in the newly created Telangana State. “As Congress party leaders, we brought the effect of demonetisation of big notes on the people to the notice of the chief secretary. There are pending arrears in banks”, he said.
He said that the people don’t know the cashless mechanism and the people were facing severe hardships with the demonetisation of big notes. He demanded the state government to distribute the small denominations in the state immediately and alleged that the Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has failed to solve the problems of the farmers and common people. The state and centre were keeping the problems of the people aside in the name of black money. The centre has failed to take precautionary measures before demonetising big notes causing hardships to the people, he alleged and said that the government has to make the people to feel a sigh of relief.
Demanding the centre to bring the black money deposited in foreign countries to the nation, Ponguleti asked the centre to initiate corrective measure without delaying much. It was not proper to the state and centre to criticise the Congress party, which was waging fight on behalf of people, he asserted. (NSS)
