Congress MLC Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy has warned the Andhra Pradesh government that he would approach the Supreme Court if it failed to change the design of the Polavaram project on Godavari River.
Speaking at the Assembly media point here on Thursday, Ponguleti said tribal villages will be submerged under the Polavaram project if the AP government went ahead with the construction of the project without changing its design. He also questioned the State and Central governments to tell whether they will give any assurance that Ramalayam would not submerge under the project. He said he would also knock at the doors of National Green Tribunal urging it to make the AP government to change the design of the Polavaram project. (NSS)
