Ponnam asks SEC to remove TRS flexes in city

Demanding that the State Election officials remove TRS flexes in the City, former MP Ponnam Prabhakar asked the officials not to become sycophants to the TRS government.

Speaking to the media at Gandhi Bhavan here on Monday, Ponnam said the TRS party, which created a hungama before the nominations to the GHMC elections with the money it earned illegally, has downed with the lack of candidates to field in the elections. He alleged that the TRS party, which announced before the nominations that it will win 100 seats easily, was now maintaining silence.

Alleging that the TRS party has assigned to all-party leaders (K Keshava Rao, D Srinivas and Kadiam Srihari, Indrakaran Reddy, Mynampally Hanmantha Rao etc) to allocate TRS tickets to the candidates, Ponnam found fault with the TRS that the party has failed to allocate tickets to the leaders, who participated in the Telangana movement. He opined that there won’t be a contest with the TRS party because the party has not even found candidates and exuded confidence that the Congress party will win the election and grab the Mayor post.
