Ponnam asks TRS MPs to raise HC bifurcation issue

Congress senior leader and former MP Ponnam Prabhakar on Monday asked TRS MPs to raise issues concerning Telangana State in the monsoon session of Parliament beginning from Tuesday.

Speaking to media persons at Gandhi Bhavan here, Ponnam said that the TRS MPs should raise the issue of bifurcation of High Court, implementation of Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act and funds for Godavari Pushkarulu. He advised the TRS MPs to set their personal and political agenda aside and focus on development of State.

Ponnam alleged that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao is habitual of falling silent after raising a storm. Citing examples, he said lot of hue and cry were raised over merger of seven mandals of Khammam district with Andhra Pradesh and more recently, the ‘Cash for Vote’ scam. However, the Chief Minister fell silent on both the issues for reasons better known only to him. He asked KCR to disclose the TRS strategy for the forthcoming session of Parliament. (INN)
