Ponnam blasts TRS Govt for failure on Housing Promise

Demanding the Telangana government to complete the construction of houses, Congress senior leader and former MP Ponnam Prabhakar has alleged that the TRS government has not yet constructed a single house though it has given a G.O. for the construction of 60,000 dwellings.

Speaking to the media at Gandhi Bhavan here on Tuesday, Ponnam alleged that the government informed something to the Court and doing differently in practice, in regard to double bed room houses. He asserted that the Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has thrown on the streets the people of Chinnamukkalnuru, which was adopted by him. He alleged that the government has demolished the houses of the Chinnmukkalnuru village assuring that it will construct new houses to them, but not yet started the construction though five months have gone.

Alleging that the government was issuing G.Os before the elections every time for the sake of votes, Ponnam criticized it for issuing orders to the people to apply for houses to the local MLA, was atrocious. The government informed the Court that the ‘grama sabhas’ will select the beneficiaries but once again the government issued orders asking  the people to apply for the houses to the  MLA. He alleged that the government constructed a small colony and was showing it as a model colony every time. Finding fault with the IT Minister K T Ramarao’s statement that the government will construct 1.8 lakh houses, he said that the government was passing time without acquiring the land to construct the houses only to get  votes in  GHMC elections.
