Postpaid mobile service being restored in Valley

Srinagar: Postpaid mobile phones of all service providers are being restored from Monday night, a police official said.

“With the improvement in the situation it has been decided to restore post paid telephony tonight,” a police spokesman said.

All mobile phones except the BSNL postpaid mobile phones had stopped working in the Valley on September 12, a day before the Eid festival when the authorities feared large scale violence by the separatists.

Broadband services on landlines, also suspended in the Valley on September 12, were restored on Saturday evening.

All mobile Internet facilities however continue to remain suspended since July 9 when the ongoing unrest started in the Valley.
