PPP to join PTI’s Islamabad ‘lockdown’ if Govt tortures political workers: Aitzaz Ahsan

Islamabad [Pakistan]: Pakistan Peoples Party leader Aitzaz Ahsan on Monday said that the party will review its decision to stay away from the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf’s November 2 ‘lockdown’ of Islamabad if the government resorted to ‘torture’ of political workers.

The Dawn quoted Ahsan as saying, “We believe that Imran Khan is on the right path,”

He added that that the process of accountability should begin with the Prime Minister and his family.

Ahsan said that Sharif has been running away from accountability.

Claiming Imran Khan’s viewpoint valid and that institution have not been discharging their duties, he said that action would have been taken by the government had the same allegations been leveled against any other party.

Asserting that protest is a democratic right of all parties, the PPP leader said that some ministers have been misleading the government and the Prime Minister will have to present himself for accountability. (ANI)
