Telangana Excise Minister T Padma Rao today met Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu and urged him to transfer 12.60 acres of Lallaguda railway land in Secunderabad for double bedroom scheme.
Along with Union Labour Minister Bandaru Dattatreya, TRS MPs Kavitha, B Vinod Kumar, K Vishweshwar Reddy, Malla Reddy and others the minister submitted a memorandum to Prabhu in Delhi who reportedly agreed to give the land for the purpose at the earliest. Later Padma Rao expressed happiness that the railway minister responded positively to give away the land for the double bedroom scheme.
He expressed happiness that Prabhu rang up to Railway GM Vinod Kumar and give report on the railway land being sought by the Telangana government. He informed that the railway land will help build houses for the poor who cannot afford for the permanent shelter. Padma Rao promised to give land or money for the Lallaguda land and also the land needed for construction of a satellite terminal at Charlapally. (NSS)
