Pratyusha Banerjee’s parents meet Jharkhand Governor for CBI inquiry

Jamshedpur: The parents of television actress Pratyusha Banerjee today met Jharkhand Governor Draupadi Murmu seeking her intervention for a CBI probe into their daughter’s unnatural death in Mumbai.

Pratyusha’s parents Shankar Banerjee and Soma Banerjee accompanied by relatives met the governor at Raj Bhawan in Ranchi and sought her intervention to unearth the mystery behind the death of the actress, who allegedly committed suicide in Mumbai on April 1st.

The governor gave them a patient hearing and assured help so that they could get justice, her mother Soma said on her return here. Earlier, Pratyusha’s parents and relatives had launched a signature campaign here last week to garner public support for their demand for a CBI probe into the unnatural death of the ‘Balika Vadhu’ actor.

The couple had also met Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das and Jharkhand Women Commission Chairperson in Ranchi to seek their support for CBI support to unearth the mystery behind Pratyusha’s death.

Pratyusha’s boyfriend Rahul Raj Singh had been booked for abetment of suicide and criminal intimidation in connection with her death.
