President, vice-president greet people on Milad-un-Nabi

New Delhi: President Pranab Mukherjee and Vice President Mohammad Hamid Ansari on Wednesday greeted people on the occasion of Milad-un-Nabi.

“On the auspicious occasion of Milad-un-Nabi, I convey greetings and good wishes to all my fellow countrymen in India and abroad,” said Mukherjee in his message.

“May the message of compassion, tolerance and service to humanity preached and practiced by the Holy Prophet inspire and guide each one of us to move forward on the path of love and universal brotherhood,” Mukherjee said.

Vice President Ansari said: “I convey my warm greetings and best wishes to all our citizens on the auspicious occasion of Milad-un-Nabi — celebrated as the birthday of Prophet Mohammad. The Holy Prophet showed humanity the righteous path of compassion, tolerance and universal brotherhood.”

“May His eternal message continue to guide us in building a peaceful and harmonious society,” he added.
