President’s rule in Arunachal Pradesh against Constitution : Kejriwal

New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Monday said the recommendation of imposing President’s rule, suspending an elected government in Arunachal Pradesh, was “against the Constitution”.

“Constitution doesn’t allow you to suspend an elected government and enforce the President’s rule in any state,” the Aam Aadmi Party chief said.

Kejriwal had earlier termed the union cabinet’s recommendation of the President’s rule in Arunachal as “murder of Constitution on the eve of Republic Day”. Arunachal Pradesh had a Congress government. The Supreme Court is hearing a host of petitions related to Arunachal Pradesh.
