Hyderabad: YSR Congress Party MLA Roja today appeared before the Privileges Committee constituted by the AP Assembly to look into the complaint of TDP MLA Anita, who had said Roja used unparliamentary word against her in the Assembly.
The Privilege Committee sought a clarification from Roja. The committee chairman Gollapalli Suryarao said the committee has recorded the statement of Roja and will prepare a report on the clarification given by her. The committee would submit its report to the Speaker.
It may be mentioned here that Roja was suspended from the Assembly for one year for her reported objectionable comments against a woman member in the House. It was reported that the Privileges Committee discussed with Roja for about an hour. Roja failed to appear before the committee twice earlier. However, the committee has given a third chance and asked Roja to appear before it and she appeared today. (NSS)
