Pro Kabaddi League: U Mumba beat Dabang Delhi to surge into second spot

Jaipur: U Mumba have surged into the second spot in the fourth season of the Pro Kabaddi League as they dished out another loss to Dabang Delhi KC here at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium.

After two consecutive defeats, U Mumba bounced back in style to beat Dabang Delhi KC (27-25). Rishank Devadiga starred for U Mumba as he scored eight of the 14 raid points his team scored.

U Mumba climbed to second spot in the table with 11 points from four games whereas Dabang Delhi remained seventh with four points from three games.

The raiders of both teams struggled early on as it was 2-2 after first five minutes of the first half. Anup Kumar scored his first raid point in the 10th minute as U Mumba took a slender lead 6-5. It was more about bonus points and tackle points as a tight game unfolded in the first half.

Kashiling Adake scored two points in the 16th minute and Dabang Delhi KC inflicted an all-out in the same minute to lead 13-9. At half time, Delhi led 14-12 and looked on course to record their second ever win over U Mumba.

U Mumba, however, had different ideas and began strongly in the second half as they leveled the score at 15-15 with less than 15 minutes on the clock. Deepak Narwal struggled to score points for Dabang Delhi KC as he made only one successful raid in 11 attempts. Rishank Devadiga scored three points with a super raid in eighth minute of the second half to shift the momentum in U Mumba’s favour.

A minute later, U Mumba inflicted their first all out to lead 21-17. Dabang Delhi KC made a late surge in the game and cut the deficit to two points with less than a minute to go. Selvamani then scored with a raid with less than 10 seconds to go as Delhi trailed by just one point. But U Mumba captain Anup Kumar scored with his final raid as U Mumba prevailed 27-25 in the end.
