Protect Gulf NRIs: KTR urges Sushma

IT and NRI Affairs Minister KT Rama Rao today urged External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj to initiate necessary measures to provide complete job security and social safety to the NRIs working in Gulf and elsewhere and check fake agents cheating them.

Talking to media persons after calling on Sushma in Delhi and discussed with her about the problems, welfare and job security of NRIs and safe release of Telangana Prof Balram Kishan kidnapped in Libya and those languishing Telangana people in Gulf jails.

“We have asked the cooperation of the External Affairs Ministry to appoint an official with Telugu knowledge in the office Indian Envoy in Gulf and urged for a detailed report on those living in Gulf and those planning to make it to Gulf and other nations”. KTR also said that he appealed to Sushma Swaraj to send trained nurses to Gulf through Telangana Government run Tomcom and put a tab on the fake agents duping the gullible NRIs and cheating them.

 

KTR also reacted on the Eamcet-2 leakage scandal saying that justice will be done to the students. The students appeared for the exam and their worried parents should not agonize as the government will do justice he maintained. The Education Minister Kadiam Srihari and Health Minister Dr C Lakshma Reddy will take a decision to protect the interests of the students in this regard KTR said.

On the reported denial by the Centre in Parliament to increase the number of Assembly seats in two Telugu States, the IT Minister asked the BJP leadership to give clarity on the issue. He contended that when there is majority for increasing the Assembly seats, why not the BJP Government is ready to make necessary amendment to the constitution. (NSS)
