Protesting Congress & TDP MLAs held in Assembly

The Police arrested the Congress and TDP MLAs, who staged dharna in the podium in the Legislative Assembly protesting against the Deputy Speaker for not giving chance for the clarifications and for adjourning the house, and shifted them to their respective party offices.

After the reply of the Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on short discussion on ‘Fees Reimbursement Scheme and Scholarship to Students’ in the Legislative Assembly here on Wednesday, the Deputy Speaker Padma Devender Reddy adjourned the House immediately though the CLP leader K Jana Reddy asking for the chance to speak on clarifications.

Expressing anger at the Chair the Congress members entered into the podium and made sit-in protesting against the attitude of the Speaker along with TDP members. The dharna went on till evening as the Congress members not convinced with Legislature secretary Dr S Raja Sadaram’s efforts. In the evening, following the Speaker’s directions the police arrested the Congress MLAs and shifted them to nearby police station.

On the other hand, the MIM members lodged their protest while meeting the Speaker in the latter’s chamber. Later, speaking to the media, MIM member alleged that the government was not running the House properly and running away to answer to the questions raised by the Opposition parties. (NSS)
